Tonight is Christmas Eve. It is a time for celebrating family and friends. A time of peace and goodwill toward others. Or so I thought.
I thought I would post a nice "Merry Christmas" to all in my coven. And I did. Well, there is ONE member in the coven who I do not get along with. She is really a fucking bitch. I had no idea just how much of a bitch she truly was, until tonight. I thought "let bygones be bygones," right? So, I wished her a merry christmas in my post along with the other coven mates. (Oh, she has had me blocked before tonight, why? because she is a fucking bitch)
Anyway, she must have read it, because what does she do? She comes and UPDATES the block on me! All because I wished her a merry christmas???? I guess I am an idiot, because I do not get it. I wish her a merry christmas. This in turn prompts her to come and update her block on me. Yes by God, that makes perfect sense! uh...no. I still do not get it. If anyone gets that, please explain it to me??

Rant of the Day
I have to talk about supervisors for a minute, since MY supervisor is such a fucking bitch. She was appointed the department supervisor a month ago, did not go through the hiring process, just was put in the position. That is the state for you!
First of all, there are four types of supervisors:
1. Autocratic or Authoritarian supervision:
Under this type, the supervisor wields absolute power and wants complete obedience from his subordinates. He wants everything to be done strictly according to his instructions and never likes any intervention from his subordinates. This type of supervision is resorted to tackle indiscipline subordinates.
2. Laissez-faire or free-rein supervision:
This is also known as independent supervision. Under this type of supervision, maximum freedom is allowed to the subordinates. The supervisor never interferes in the work of the subordinates. In other words, full freedom is given to workers to do their jobs. Subordinates are encouraged to solve their problems themselves.
3. Democratic supervision:
Under this type, supervisor acts according to the mutual consent and discussion or in other words he consults subordinates in the process of decision making. This is also known as participative or consultative supervision. Subordinates are encouraged to give suggestions, take initiative and exercise free judgment. This results in job satisfaction and improved morale of employees.
4. Bureaucratic supervision:
Under this type certain working rules and regulations are laid down by the supervisor and all the subordinates are required to follow these rules and regulations very strictly. A serious note of the violation of these rules and regulations is taken by the supervisor.
My previous supervisor was a Laissez-faire or free-rein supervisor, and we all did fantastic under her. NO PROBLEMS. We are all adults, and know our job. Then comes in this bitch, who by the way, I trained when she was an intern, and she is a Autocratic or Authoritarian supervisor. She does not know anything about being a supervisor, and quotes policy and procedure all day long. I know she sits in her office and looks it up BEFORE quoting it, because she does not know it!
Anyway, before she was appointed, I got wind of her getting the position, and requested that she not be put over me because we do not like each other, and I KNEW she would give me problems. I was of course turned down. Since she has been in the position, I have had nothing but problems from her as I knew I would. Problems being, she consistently watches EVERYTHING I do, and is constantly on my ass about my break times, my therapy and group times, leave times, you name it, she is on my ass about it!
I am bringing all of this up, because I provide therapy to really ill patients, and I have requested an administrative transfer. If I get the transfer, which I should because I have seniority, this will not just affect me, but will affect my patients. They are currently really doing well - they are self-injurers, and have NOT injured themselves in months. They have full freedom of movement, are attending their groups and classes, are doing their skills training, and are even smiling again! No small task, let me tell you! If I leave, all of my hard work with them is liable to go down the drain, and they might have a relapse. I say this because it has happened before.
The "supervisor" is not thinking of this! She is not thinking of how HER actions are affecting the department, or the patients. She is only thinking of herself. A good supervisor things of the "whole." Thinks of how to work WITH the employees to make the workplace a better place to be, a better place to work, how to improve things. How to make it so the employees want to come to work! As it is now, NO ONE wants to come to work! When the employees are stressed, don't you think the patients pick up on this?? Of course they do!
So, in closing, I am NOT saying I am the best employee, or even that when I leave the place will fall apart. I am just saying, that a supervisor is more than a figure head. A good supervisor looks at the total picture, and thinks of how each employee affects the total picture: kind of like a piece of a puzzle. When one piece is missing, it affects the whole puzzle, doesn't it?

Just Another Day at Work...
Over the course of my time at the psych hospital, I have had my share of marriage proposals from the male patients, even had some of them think they were my husbands! One man in particular, was extremely psychotic and delusional, and thought he was married to me.
He was restricted to his dorm in the forensic unit, because he was not in touch with "reality," and had been in several fights, and I so happened to have another patient there who I had to provide individual therapy services on a weekly basis. Whenever I saw my patient, the man who thought he was my husband would ask me to take him home with me when I left, and I would always say no I couldn't I had things I had to do, or some other excuse. There was no reasoning with this patient: he was just too delusional and psychotic. Better to keep him happy! Plus, he was a lot bigger than I was!!
One of the things that you do not do is show fear to these patients, because they will jump on you in a heartbeat. You have to be kind but firm. Stand your ground, but do not show fear!
Anyway, one day I was getting ready to leave the dorm, and the man came up to me, and said he was going home with me. Again, I said no, I had things I had to do, but he was NOT having it! Before I could blink, he had me up against the wall, hand on my throat screaming at me that he was my husband, and he was coming home with me!!!!
Now, I was scared!! Yes I was! lol! Another male patient tried to help me, but the man was strong! Staff were in the chart room, and finally got him pulled off of me before he could choke me out. Needless to say, after that, I was MUCH MORE alert around male patients!!!! And, I did not go back onto that man's dorm - I had my other male patient brought out to me in a service team room! LOL
Moral of the story? If a man thinks he is your husband and he is not, get the hell away from him quick!!!!
